Forward Horizans is a community development agency and a transitional housing facility attempting to share the vision, of helping men and women learn and develop the life skills to move forward from the horrors of addiction after treatment.
Our mentorship approaches each individual with a personal understanding of the unique struggles of addiction and recovery. With almost 30 years of professional and recovery knowledge and experience, Forward Horizans provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals re-entering mainstream society.
Forward Horizans is an organization managed by individuals with combined professional knowledge and recovery experience, who serve as mentors. Each house has access to and assistance with shopping, dining, schooling, employment, volunteer opportunities, public transportation, 12-Step Meetings, entertainment activities such as beach and other outings, along with various other community activities. Residents will get a safe and supportive atmosphere where they can grow along with others in their recovery. Complimentary amenities include central air-conditioning, laundry, internet and Wi-Fi, cable television, and phone services for job search and call backs, and are all included in the weekly rent and/ or family contributions for living expenses.
Forward Horizans exists to assist in guiding each person to recovery events, recovery retreats, meetings, and additional forms of clean living experiences. The program also assists with community linkage for employment, court issues, driver’s license issues, DUI classes, and any other life challenges. We believe that change can occur and we help our male residents make it possible in their lives, while moving forward. Our overall purpose is to enhance an environment that inspires change.
Through a safe, clean, and secure home in a prime downtown locations in Ft. Lauderdale, and Delray Beach our mentee residents are under the care of exceptional individuals who are true testaments to the benefits of living a successful and healthy recovery-based lifestyle.
Along with each mentee, along with any of their willing family members, are assisted with the development and structure that incorporates a sense of family and family restoration. The purpose, service and intent of Forward Horizans, ICDI, is to provide a place where people with the disease of addiction can learn, through Mentorship, how to trust themselves again--a home where the transition from addictive living to recovery-based living is not just a goal, but an enjoyable way of life.
