In October 2013, DCF will be presenting their plan to the state on the hot topic of how to handle the regulation of recovery residences in Florida. The local Florida governments are pushing for legislation to pass, which will impose rules and regulations that will not only cripple the “bad” owners/operators, but also the “good” ones, forcing many to close their doors. The Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) has been working tirelessly with DCF on compiling a database of, and surveying recovery residences around the state to propose a plan of self-regulation in the industry.

In order to help us accomplish our goal of protecting recovery residences from facing extinction, we are asking treatment providers, recovery residence owners, staff members, and anyone else who has an interest in this industry to fill out the survey.
