Eddie Vega opened Mom and Pop’s House doors in 2010.
In 2012, he expanded the family business by inviting his friend of 10 years, Mike Chahalis, to join him. Since that time, they have continued to grow Mom and Pop’s House into 6 locations, serving approximately 40 clients.
Our Mission is to provide a safe and sober community to help you live a healthy and joyous life. With positive action and encouragement you will have a life beyond your wildest dreams. Let us help you succeed!
We ensure the feeling of community, not only by being constant fixtures on all properties, but by gathering together and enjoying and celebrating life. Each month we have community meetings where everyone gets together for food, fellowship and news. We also have community functions such as holiday dinners or barbeques, birthday celebrations, and family outings to local attractions, like the Miami Zoo.
Each home at Mom & Pop’s House is comfortable, clean and safe. All houses are equipped with on site laundry, wifi, and cable tv. We also provide the community with a gym membership and transportation to and from 12 Step meetings and other support services.
The Mom & Pop’s Guidelines help to maintain our standards of safe and sober living. Some of these are:
-mandatory attendance of a 12 step recovery meetings,
-laboratory drug testing
-individual house chores-nightly curfews
-maintaining responsibility by attending school, volunteering or being employed
-treating fellow residents with kindness and respect regardless of race, culture, sexual orientation and ethnicity
